The Region
Rome. But to do so would be missing the boat.
The geography of the region provides many pleasures in areas not necesarily crowded with visitors. From the beaches and pine forests or the lacs area north-east, visitors can experience how Tuscany slowly decants into Latium, the entire area sprinkled with ruins, necropolis and other heritage from Antiquity. Due north points towards Umbria and sharper, crisper hillsides; again rich in Roman heritage, but where the scent is distinctly of the MIddle Ages.
The hills and lakes wround Rome offer other pleasures in an area known as that of the 'Roman castles'.
Further south, nature throws another curve ball. Latium thus deserves its title of center of the country: the terrain communicates how you are now entering in the south...
