 Great heights. The tallest peaks of Europe, including the 4807m Mont Blanc, and the grandiose natural scenery are also blessed by rich history. The geography of Aosta made it a natural crossroads; traces of civilisations dating back to the III Millenium B.C. are part of this land's heritage.
The capital bearing the same name is a natural starting point for tours. From the city's own cultural and historical treasures - be they Roman or from the Middle Ages - to sporting activities in the various resorts, culminating with breathtaking views of pinnacles, ancient glaciers and natural parks. The most famous being aptly named Gran Paradiso.
